The Inside Scoop of Maryland Portrait Photography Printing Rights

When it comes to Maryland portrait photography for weddings, one of the most important questions for many people is about photo printing rights. It makes sense that a bride would like to print her portraits later on, or that the mother may want to reprint photos for others who want a copy. The problem is, the photos are a creative work of the photographer and not all photographers are willing or able to give people these rights. It is a good idea for you to learn what stipulations and requirements are in place before you choose to work with any provider.

Why Printing Rights Matter

The printing rights to any professional work are up to the creator of that work. Though it is your picture in the photograph, the provider still has the right to limit or restrict the use of the photo for any reason. This is always one of the first questions that people ask photographers and you should, too. If you are getting married, for example, you should know what printing rights you have or do not have with your paid-for portraits.

Here are a few things to keep in mind regarding Maryland portrait photography.

  • Many photographers will provide specific guidelines to you within the contract that state how and when you can use photographs even after you purchase them.
  • Most of the information you need regarding photograph rights is included in your contract. Read that contract before you agree to work with the provider.
  • In some cases, the photographer will agree to allow buyers, who are the subjects of the photos, to purchase the printing rights to the photos, for an additional fee or as part of the package. If this is something important to you, be sure that you discuss this option with your Maryland portrait photographer first.
  • The good news is that most photographers will be happy to print you additional copies of your portrait for a fee if you come back in, even if it is some time later. Ask your provider if this is a possibility.

When it comes to choosing a photographer, many things make a difference. You want a qualified provider who can create the unique images important to you. You want a Maryland portrait photography studio you can trust to do a great job. You also want fair pricing, numerous product options and you want to know you are with a trusted provider.

5 Posing Tips from an Annapolis Portrait Photographer

An Annapolis portrait photographer can do a fantastic job with your wedding photos, but you can help him or her by knowing a few poses that you’d like to incorporate in the shoot. While a good photographer will guide you, it can help you to get better shots if you do a bit of preparation prior to actually coming in for your photos or begin posing on your wedding day. The professionals at Erin Ellen Photography have the skills and the know how to help you to turn a basic photograph into a stellar finished product, and you can help.

  • Creativity is perhaps the most important thing when it comes to photographs. Keeping this in mind, remember that you do get to make decisions and offer opinions on the poses you create. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and to get involved in the process.
  • Be yourself. The worst thing that you can do in front of a camera is to create a posed, statue like appearance that does not lend itself to who you are. The key is to be yourself, no matter how shy or outrageous you are. Let your personality come through.
  • An honest smile is important. In short, you want the expression of the person in the shot to come through. If you are surprised, anxious, happy or sentimental, show those emotions. The best Annapolis portrait photographer will ensure that they capture those moments of intense emotion in the photos since those are authentic responses and feelings you want to keep hold of.
  • Pick a location that really works for you or that says something about you. If you met at the library, shoot the photos there. If you are both teachers, a classroom setting would be a cute idea. The key is to choose locations that truly represent you or the style and image you wish to present. Make the locations you pick meaningful to create the perfect look and feel.
  • Lighting is also important. A quality Annapolis portrait photographer will work hard to ensure lighting is right. Trust their decisions about lighting, for example telling you that the picture would come out better in natural light rather than in a studio. Be sure to voice your opinion, but give the expert the chance to make great decisions for your photos.

As you consider the many things you want your wedding photos to look like, remember to keep things as natural as possible. This will create the ideal finished product for you and for your memories. Remember that an Annapolis portrait photographer is working for you, thus you can provide ideas and information that you believe to be helpful. On the other hand, do allow the experts to help guide you when it comes to posing styles, locations and even smiles. Companies such as Erin Ellen Photography work hard to ensure that your finished pictures are exactly what you wanted, or perhaps a bit more than that. You should be impressed with your final results.

MARYLAND PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHERS’ TIPS FOR BRIDAL PORTRAITS

Maryland Portrait Photographers’ Tips for Bridal Portraits

Maryland portrait photographers can take what could be standard and traditional bridal portraits and make them magical. One of the most important things that a professional photographer can do for a bride on her wedding day is to capture emotion. If you imagine a wedding day, from the early morning preparations to the last moments of the reception, you can probably think of a range of emotion that the bride will be going through, such as excitement, nervousness, giddiness, and happiness. Capturing those emotional moments in photo is what is going to make the biggest difference in your memories of the whirlwind day. The good news is that Erin Ellen Photography in Annapolis, Maryland can help you to capture those intimate moments in perfect form.

The right Maryland portrait photographers can truly help you to change the way that you are planning to be photographed on this special day. While those intimate captures of people and emotions are important, sometimes it is all about the setting and the surroundings. Consider these tips to help you to get the best bridal portraits.

• Have a few shots done in black and white. The contrast is amazing. The look can be nothing short of breathtaking. With the right light, this can capture the essence of what is truly magical about your wedding day.

• Getting ready is another one of those must-have shots. When you work with a trusted provider and photographer you can remain confident that you will look amazing in these shots.

• In some situations, it may be best to try some creative lighting, too. Imagine a silhouette of the bride, in front of a large window, seeming to be daydreaming about her big day and her new life.

• How about the location? Thinking outside the box with your location may make the portrait more unique and memorable. Maybe next to a fence, or on a rooftop with a view, sitting in a café, or maybe in the arch of a doorway.

• Natural light is another interesting and simple way to frame a photo. The photographer is able to capture unique features and intricate details with this type of lighting.

• These are just a few examples of what a qualified Maryland portrait photographer can create for you. You can choose a look that is all your own. You can be as creative as you would like, or as formal and traditional as fits your needs. On the other hand, you may just want to hire a professional who can help you to create that magical moment for you. The right creative person can really make all the difference here.

Consider all of the options available to you for your bridal portraits. Realize that the options for bridal portraits really are up to you. Choose the look and feel that works for you, or allow your experienced Maryland portrait photographers handle this special photo session for you. Monger Family

Being a MD portrait photographer I often get to travel to areas I normally wouldn’t travel. The Mongers live not too far from Annapolis in their beautiful home with their new baby boy. We found a few wonderful spots upstairs flooded with light in the hallways and master bedroom. Part of what makes my job so fun and challenging is discovering these little nooks in locations I’ve never been to before.

My favorite image from the shoot. This shot was taken towards the end of the shoot. He was tuckered out and ready for a nap.Being just 5 weeks old I wonder how far he can actually see. He looks completely engaged with the camera but he’s probably responding to the sugar water we just dosed him with ;). A wonderful trick to get newborns to calm down and act alert.

Details…

The Mongers are beautiful people inside and out, obviously. It made for an easy shoot. They allowed me to be creative and were very wiling to try whatever I wanted.

Just the boys.Mommy’s love.

Thank You Mongers for a wonderful photo shoot.
